Why natural clothing from Natural Fibers Coalition? Non-syntheitic fibers are soft and comfortable to wear, insulating your body and letting your skin breathe. Natural Fibers Coalition takes pride in providing a wide variety of products made featuring a large number of these healthy fibers. A description of some of the fibers that we use follows. Alpaca: A domesticated member of the camel family native to the Andes, the alpaca has hair that is extremely warm and insulating, similar to wool, but lighter and softer. Boiled Wool: A woven or knitted fabric that has been compressed through heat and other processes. This rich, substantial felt is so closely interlocked that it is almost impossible to distinguish the weave. It has strong shape retention, and is extremely warm and water repellent. One of the softest, lightest fibers used in Natural Fibers Coalition natural clothing is cashmere. Cashmere comes from the fine, soft underfleece of cashmere goat native to the Himalayas. Another fiber, Danish Green Cotton is grown without pesticides and produced by the most ecologically sound methods. The resulting fiber is knit into an extremely comfortable, soft accommodating fabric.
Casual and colorful or tailored and sophisticated, Natural Fibers Coalition natural clothing is a great addition to your wardrobe. Whether its in the form of dresses, blouses, pants, tops, tank tops, or shirts we have it. Our non-synthetic clothes make you feel pampered and comfortable through out your busy day. Other popular fibers are described below. Lambswool: The first shearing of wool from lambs seven to nine months old. It is finer and softer than wool from full-grown sheep. Mohair: A soft, long, lustrous fiber obtained from the Angora goat. The fluffy hair is springy and curly; it can be densely woven for warmth or loosely woven for breathability. Pashmina: The softest form of cashmere, spun from the ultra-fine fibers gathered from the underbelly of the Himalayan mountain goat. (Not to be confused with Shatoosh, which is the wool of slaughtered Tibetan male antelopes.) Shetland Wool: A springy, medium-textured wool originating from a breed of sheep on the Shetland Isles. Wool: Wool is an animal protein fiber that is sheared from sheep. Wool-bearing domestic sheep are raised in almost every country of the world. There are hundreds of varieties and breeds, producing a wide range of fiber types, from ultra-soft to crisp, making wool one of the most versatile of animal fibers.
